It all started with a (flowery) dream

Hi Michiana! I’m Trudi. I live and raise my family (along with a gaggle of pets) in Granger, Indiana. I love flowers, fashion, coffee, and will rewatch Gilmore Girls for the 50th time before trying a new show.

When I started our sister company, Cherry Road Florals in 2022, the plan was very clear; I wanted a bespoke wedding floral business unlike anything else in Michiana. I wanted to create quality floral designs, using locally grown or amazing imported flowers, to make clients’ wedding floral dreams come true. I wanted professional, individualized service for each client; reliable and open communication, prompt and precise delivery of florals, with a true “team bride” mentality for every event.

I had dabbled a bit with one-off bouquets, holidays flowers, wreaths, and funeral pieces in the past, but couldn’t find a way for those to make sense within a business where the only time flowers were in the Studio was when we had a wedding. I loved what I was able to create for our wedding clients, but truly felt we were missing the chance to connect our gorgeous florals with a greater portion of our community.

I dreamed of opening a little brick-and-mortar retail flowers shop in Granger, IN, where I live with my family. I visited possible retail spaces and learned as much as I could from other florists across the country through one-on-one chats, as well as books and podcasts. I wanted a space that was uplifting and gorgeous, with an welcoming European feel, brimming with stunning flowers and fabulous gifts.

Enter the vacant space in a wonderful retail and office space in Granger. Right along SR 23, where so many people drive to and from work every day. Never finished. Open for a little dreamer to come in and set up shop. I told myself (and my husband - sorry babe) I was just going to check it out, just in case it was a good fit for us, and I meant it. But from the moment I stepped inside, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this felt right.

Bouquet of Granger is a new floral business, built on the back of Cherry Road Florals. We’re bringing the luscious, garden-inspired designs usually reserved for our luxury wedding clients, into the hands of customers wanting flowers for their kitchen table, their son’s prom, their daughter’s baby shower, their mother’s birthday. We’re bringing a curated selection of gifts our customers won’t find anywhere else, many made in America by female entrepreneurs so customers can elevate their own homes and give the best gifts to their friends and loved ones.

I will have been working behind the scenes on this little flower shop dream for almost two years by the time we open our doors to the public. I can’t wait to share the joy of flowers with our Michiana community, and am so excited for this next part of our journey.
